Scarves
Women's scarves in silk, wool blends and prints
Forcast scarves do two jobs. In the cooler months a wool blend scarf, like the Audree Wool Blend Scarf or the Paloma Wool Blend Scarf, is the layer that makes a coat feel finished on the walk to the office. Year round, silk scarves and slim twillies add a line of colour or print to a plain shirt, dress or bag. The range covers plain, houndstooth, check, leopard and fringed styles.
Choosing a scarf
Pick the size by how you want to wear it. A large wool blend scarf wraps twice or drapes open over a coat. A square silk scarf, such as the Janessa Silk Scarf, folds to a band for the neck or the hair. A twilly, like the Bridgette Silk Twilly, is narrow and long, made to knot at the throat, wrap a wrist or tie around a bag handle. Checks such as the Barossa Check Scarf and Seville Check Scarf pair with plain coats; a leopard print lifts an all-black outfit.
How to wear a scarf to work
Tie a silk scarf at the neck under an open shirt collar instead of a necklace, or loop it through the handle of a bag for colour without commitment. In winter, a wool blend scarf in a tone close to your coat reads as tailored; a contrast colour reads as the point of the outfit. Keep one plain and one print in the drawer and you have covered most days.
Pulling an outfit together
Satin and silk scarves crease if left balled in a bag, so roll them. A scarf is also the easiest way to bring a knit and a skirt bought in different seasons into one outfit, because it repeats a colour from each.
